About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our team. The Electrician will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in various environments, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install electrical systems, wiring, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and outlets in accordance with safety standards and regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and building plans to determine wiring layouts and installation procedures.
- Inspect electrical systems, identify faulty components, and carry out repairs as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure long-term efficiency.
- Replace circuit breakers, fuses, switches, wiring, and other components to ensure electrical systems function properly.
- Diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing devices such as multimeters and voltage testers.
- Repair or replace malfunctioning electrical systems, wiring, and equipment.
- Ensure prompt resolution of electrical problems to minimize downtime.
- Follow all safety protocols, including those related to electrical systems and working conditions.
- Ensure installations and repairs are compliant with local, national, and industry-specific electrical codes (e.g., NEC).
- Identify potential hazards and recommend solutions to avoid electrical accidents.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other tradespeople to ensure electrical work is coordinated with other building activities.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain electrical issues and repair options.
- Prepare and maintain reports on completed work, materials used, and time spent.
- Update electrical system designs and specifications as needed based on completed
- Support team objectives and carry out additional tasks as assigned by superiors.
- Ensure that QHSE (Quality, Health and Safety, and Environment) policies and procedures are effectively implemented on-site.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or certification.
- Valid electrician’s license/certification (as per local regulations).
- Proven experience as an electrician in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and components. Familiarity with testing devices and hand tools.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, good communication, and time management skills.
