Fire & Life Safety Design Engineer / Draftsman
Prepare designs, cost estimates and shop drawings for Fire & Life Safety systems to NFPA and the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code of Practice, using AutoCAD and Revit. Competitive package based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities & requirements
Key responsibilities
- Review project inquiries and prepare initial design and cost estimates
- Optimise estimates and review lost jobs against competitor pricing
- Prepare detailed Fire & Life Safety shop drawings to applicable standards and consultant requirements
- Review ID drawings, RC drawings and interface components
- Maintain design and shop drawing logs and weekly design reports
- Liaise with DC and Projects teams; attend site and client meetings
- Prepare Quantity Take-Offs for tenders and approved shop drawings
What we're looking for
- 8–10 years in Fire & Life Safety design and drafting
- NFPA standards and UAE Fire & Life Safety Code of Practice
- Fire Fighting incl. Suppression; Fire Alarm & Voice Evacuation
- Emergency Lighting incl. Monitoring & Central Battery Systems
- Strong AutoCAD and Revit; BIM is a plus
- ELV knowledge (CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling, Intercom, Gate Barriers) is a plus
